Quick note, I’ve renamed Freelance Chi to Freelancing Digest. I suck at naming and Freelance Chi was a nice and simple name that I intended to keep temporarily. I never knew it would be 46 issues before I found a better, more representative name.
I’ve never felt comfortable with the work/life balance term. It’s always felt like it’s trying too hard to be an even 50/50 split, while nothing is life is ever cleanly split. For me it’s more of a messy soup of work, family, health, fitness, recreation, and cupcakes. For Jessica Manuszak, work/life balance is a sham though it does include cake batter.
Copywriting is a valuable skill for a consultant. It is a sales conversation, communicated through writing. It’s also an incredibility deep, complex, and ever-growing topic with copywriters spending decades in it full-time and still not knowing everything. Luckily, by going from a 0 to novice copywriter you can learn enough to improve your own marketing. Listen Witherill boils down one great copywriting tactic (customer pain messaging) into a short 3-step, 7 day plan.
