Win projects using email
I’ve won a lot of client work using email. Email is powerful when you put effort into what you’re saying. You can use templates (I do) but you need to spend the time to customize and tweak them for every lead. Robert Williams wrote up a great article about How you land work with email that covers many tactics. Short, easy CTA, them vs you writing, etc.
Ask before you commit
When you’re screening new clients it helps to have a variety of questions available to ask them before you work with them. I have about a dozen questions I’ll use throughout the conversation to find what I need but it’s always useful to have more questions to draw from. Tom Ewer at Bidsketch has 7 Questions to Ask When You’re Looking for New Clients that cover many of the same points I focus on.
